election; petrol diesel price increase

Election results have come, now get ready for diesel and petrol price hike

Retail prices of diesel and petrol may also go up soon due to rising crude oil prices in the global market. This is indicated by the 6.7 percent rise in the price of aircraft fuel (ATF) on Saturday. State-owned oil marketing companies have hiked the price of aircraft fuel (ATF) in Delhi by Rs 3,885 per 1,000 liters, or 6.7 percent, to Rs 61,690.28. ATF prices may vary due to differences in sales tax rates on petroleum in different states. Earlier, the companies had twice reduced the price of ATF.

It was down three percent on April 1 and one percent on April 19. Diesel and petrol prices have been running at the same level for 17 consecutive days. In Delhi, petrol is priced at Rs 90.40 per liter and diesel at Rs 80.73 per liter. Officials have indicated that diesel-petrol prices may be revised soon.

Crude oil prices continue to rise

"Prices have been rising steadily for the last four days (April 27)," an official said. During this time, crude oil in Dubai has become as expensive as 9 2.91 per barrel. Retail prices of petrol and diesel are 60 percent and 54 percent central and state tax, respectively. Crude oil is rising in the international market despite the possibility of a second wave of Kovid-19 in India affecting petroleum demand. Strong US demand and the weakness of the dollar are responsible for the rise in crude oil prices.
